What is involved in the laser hair removal process?

The laser hair removal process works by sending a beam of laser light to a group of hair follicles with enough power to disable or destroy the root while not harming the surrounding skin. The laser beam finds the hair follicles by targeting melanin (the substance that gives skin and hair color).

What does the treatment feel like?

Most people tolerate the treatments very well. Discomfort is often described as a slight pinch similar to the snap of a rubber band when the laser pulses are applied. Some parts of the body do tend to be more sensitive than others and a topical numbing cream is available.

Are there any possible side effects?

Side effects, if any, are usually minor. There may be some redness and swelling around the treated hair follicles; this is a desired clinical result indicating that the follicle has responded to treatment. This reaction typically disappears within hours.

How many sessions do I need for permanent hair removal?

Generally most people will need 4 to 8 treatments. On some areas, such as the legs, chest and underarms, faster results will be achieved. We guarantee that within 6 treatments, at least 95% reduction will be achieved. The male back and female face are more challenging and may take a few additional treatments. Of course results can vary from person to person.
